Inspiration

Whispers of Inspiration are revealed when your mind is still enough to allow these offerings to be heard. Shrouded in veils, obscured by broken promises and forgotten dreams, inspiration saunters in, waiting to be noticed. Creativity is at the heart of all good therapy. It’s the process of true collaboration, found in the space between the lines, when the light peeks in through a tiny crack, when the river of words have run dry, and the stillness meets the light to say it’s ok you are safe and it’s time to begin again. You take back your birthright when you realize the coast is clear and you know and have always known exactly what to do. Suddenly it all makes sense.

It’s the resurrection of moments composed of colorful images like a kaleidoscope brought to life. When imagining scenes from your childhood, some of them pleasant and some of them not so, they are a full expression of creativity, a feeling of recognition washes over you. What did you like to do when you were little? It’s one of the first questions I pose to my clients when we are beginning to get to know one another. It’s like putting out a fishing line and feeling a hard tug, you can feel it reverberate throughout your whole body. “I got one”, a clue to finding true purpose. The childlike spirt that dances within us doesn’t need names. This illusive yet powerfully creative force can move mountains. Did you ever play pin the tail on the donkey? So much excitement, blindfolded, spun around and then you stumble your way right to the place you are meant to go. No fear, no expectations, just fun and games. May the magic of childhood be bestowed upon you as you continue to stumble and be guided to your
light.
